Họp báo giải Cờ Vua các nhóm tuổi Đông Nam Á mở rộng lần X - 2009
 

Từ ngày 6 -15/6, giải Cờ Vua các nhóm tuổi Đông Nam Á mở rộng 2009 sẽ chính thức khởi tranh tại Khách sạn Hương Giang (Thừa Thiên - Huế). Giải có sự tham dự của 270 VĐV đến từ các nước: Iran, Australia, Bruney, Malaysia, Philippines, Nga, Singapore, Indonesia và Việt Nam.

Kỳ thủ các nhóm tuổi 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 và 20 sẽ tham gia tranh tài theo thể thức hệ Thuỵ Sỹ ở các nội dung cá nhân nam, nữ; đồng đội nam, nữ của cờ tiêu chuẩn, cờ nhanh và cờ chớp.

Tại buổi họp báo, ông Đặng Tất Thắng – PCT kiêm TTK Liên đoàn Cờ Việt Nam cho biết: do trình độ Cờ Vua trẻ của Việt Nam trội hơn hẳn cùng với nội lực khá hùng hậu (gần 200 VĐV đến từ 20 tỉnh, thành trên cả nước), khả năng Việt Nam tiếp tục giữ vững vị trí nhất toàn đoàn, đạt từ 60-70 HCV là khá chắc chắn. Những cái tên như Hoài Thương, Như Ý, Kim Phụng... sẽ là những nhân tố nổi bật, hứa hẹn đem về khá nhiều HCV cho đoàn Việt Nam.
